HARRIETT'S CLOSET announces $50,000 gift for renovations and scholarships at Seminole State College

Central Florida philanthropist and arts supporter Harriett Lake was recognized for her donation to theatre renovations and scholarships for theatre students. The College’s Black Box Theatre was renamed in her honor and the new signage for Harriett’s Theatre was unveiled.

$50,000 in sales from Harriett's Closet have been donated

Harriett's Closet has raised over $100,000 in the past few months and we are proud to announce that our first distribution of $50,000 will be made to the Trauma Center at ORLANDO REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER. This donation is in celebration of its facilities, technologies and readiness which resulted in the survival of the 35 wounded victims of the Pulse massacre.

"Our hearts go out to the victims and families of the mass shooting on June 12. At Orlando Health, while we are deeply saddened by the horrific and senseless tragedy, we are encouraged by the actions of those who worked together to save many lives.
In the wake of this tragedy, we at Orlando Health have banded together to do what we do best: provide the most compassionate and comprehensive care to patients and their families, when they need it most. In total we received 44 victims. We performed 26 surgeries that day alone, and as of June 23rd, have performed more than 60 surgeries related to the shooting...
While we never imagined such a horrible act, it is also unimaginable what the outcomes would have been without the Trauma Center." -
-John W. Bozard, President, Orlando Health Foundation
